Carpe Diem

There is a certain natural kinship,
A deep recognition of like to like
Which if not rooted at the moment of perception
Fades
As a flower growing on a rocky riverbank,
Roots only inches from water
Reaching and not finding.

Were I God
I would say to this flower
"Extend your lifelines.
Seize !
Hold !
Experience
Or you will never attain !"
